Discography / History (or what I know about either) :
- The first album (" Girls:1 , Boys:0 ")
was recorded during the summer of 1990, before Igor Lapukhin joined
the band. The record sounds aweful technically (I can only speculate
on what kind of equipment they had at that time - probably not much more
than a portable cassete recorder), but the songs
are funny. All lyrics are in Russian. The album was "released"
only in 1994 - I am not even sure if there were any CD's pressed,
and how legitimate the whole thing was in the first place. Anyway,
you can still buy a tape with this stuff.
- The second album (the first "real" one), Capricious Mannequinnes
was recorded one year later, in 1991 and released in 1992.
Most lyrics are supposedly in English but some hardly understandable
dialect. Creative use of effect modules on vocals helped, too.
The album was released around the time when the band first caught
attention of the press and was shown on National TV.
- The third album (Haru-Mamburu) was recorded in 1992 and released
early in 1994. It contained the smash hit "HaruMamburu". Lyrics are
partially in English , partially in some non-existent
language ("Haru-Mamburu" doesn't mean anything in Russian). One song
is in German (I think).
- There were two albums after this (Siberian Love and
Happy Because I am Pregnant). I am not sure when there were
recorded and/or released.
